Runic’s action RPG Torchlight is a terrific little hack-and-slash lootfest, and its sequel Torchlight 2 gives Diablo 3 a serious run for its money in terms of sheer addictive fun.
So here’s some good news for anyone who doesn’t own a copy of either game; Arc Games is currently offering the first tile for free and the sequel for only $5.
Couple of caveats; first, this is a limited time deal, from now until November 20, and second you’ll have to download the Arc Games client in order to play them. Providing you’re happy with that, this should keep you occupied murdering various unpleasant creatures and stealing their goods for some time to come.
Torchlight 2 is the real winner here, a charming little dungeon crawler that packs in a bunch of welcome changes to the first game, and offers additional multiplayer fun. My advice is to choose the Engineer class and pick up the biggest cannon you can. Also, get yourself a bulldog pet for added steampunk Britishness.
