Atari is bringing back classic horror franchises Alone in the Dark and Haunted House later this year, and the publisher has just opened up pre-orders for both titles.
Putting down your money for Alone in the Dark: Illumination will net you limited-edition character and weapon skins and a 10% discount, and there’s a 15% discount for pre-ordering Haunted House: Cryptic Graves.
Illumination has moved away from its survival horror roots, and is now a co-op shooter in which you use light, and automatic weapons, to fend off Lovecraftian enemies. As for sticking closely to that franchise title - you’re not alone, and the game’s called Illumination. Which is still funny. The pre-order Eldritch Edition offers those bonus skins, but also unlocks a special achievement and grants you access to next month’s closed Beta.
Haunted House: Cryptic Graves is a first-person adventure horror with puzzles and paranormal powers. It’s being developed by Dreampainters, the team behind psychological horror Anna. You play paranormal investigator Anna Graves, heir to the haunted house in question, who’s got to rid her new property of pesky spirits including Jack the Ripper. I don’t know how he got in there.
Both titles are now available to pre-order on Steam.
