Blizzard’s decision not to include flying mounts in World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor didn’t go down particularly well with players, so it wasn’t too surprising to hear the studio reveal back in June that they were restoring the feature.
Starting from today, with the release of the game’s 6.2.2 patch, you can take to the skies once more, providing you jump through a few hoops first; you’ll need to unlock the ‘Draenor Pathfinder’ badge.
Basically, you need to have tracked down 100 of the 200 treasure items scattered across Warlords of Draenor’s new zones, completed all of the chapters for all five zones your faction quests are located in, completed all of the expansion’s daily quests in a five-man team, reach ‘Revered’ rank with three factions, and explored every zone thoroughly. There’s a more in-depth guide to the achievement here.
Alongside the new flying mounts, patch 6.2.2 brings a new Mercenary mode, which allows players to fight for the opposing faction in PVP if their side is experiencing long wait times. You can find the full patch notes here.
