Earlier this week a mysterious phone number appeared on the Hotline Miami Twitter page, leading to a flurry of speculation regarding the gory action sequel’s release date.
Calling said number leads to a strange voicemail message, which according to PC Gamer sounds like this; ”We are 50 Blessings. Together we march—m-m-m-m-march—into the future. You have reached a wrong number.”
”Wrong Number” is of course the subtitle of Hotline Miami 2, but it’s the repetition of “march” that’s intriguing fans. The extension number given in the original tweet was 10 – hence, a March 10 release date. That would seem about right for a game that’s been in development for some time, and was delayed back in October of last year.
All this remains speculation for now, but this is exactly the sort of cryptic marketing that Dennaton Games and publisher Devolver Digital are fond of. We may be getting our hands on the crime-spree sequel soon.
