Bullfrog’s classic 1993 strategy game Syndicate is one of those releases that you often hear developers and gamers waxing lyrical about, but considering its age there’s probably a lot of people out there who’ve never tried it out.
Now’s your chance – Syndicate is the latest title to be made available through Origin’s On The House programme.
Syndicate casts you as the leader of a group of cyborg agents employed by faceless corporations to do their dirty work. It’s violent (though of course this is from 1993, so I’m betting you’ve seen worse), cynical, and full of character. Character that the 2012 reboot largely dispensed with.
This is the full version of the game, for free, to keep. Not too bad a deal, even if you can probably pick Syndicate up for a negligible price on other retail sites. Once you download the game, it’s yours until either EA closes Origin down, or our faceless android servants rise up and crush us in a bloody revolution. Whichever comes first.
Do bear in mind that EA never puts a timescale on how long each On The House offer lasts, so grab it while you can if you’re interested.
