In case all those jet-packs, bionic arms and directed-energy weapons were all a bit too modern for you, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare fans, developer Sledgehammer Games has something a bit old-fashioned to make up for it.
Free for all players, the M1 Irons is a no-nonsense gunslinger’s revolver that also comes in ten variant flavours, all of which can be found hidden in Advanced Warfare’s supply crate drops.
”It (the M1) will be available in your create-a-class and ready to hit the firing range starting immediately,” reveals Sledgehammer. ”The M1 Irons revolver not only packs a punch, but has excellent mobility and range. As with all weapons in Advanced Warfare, the M1 Irons has a full suite of loot variants available through Supply Drops, and Advanced Supply Drops. We’re excited for you to try it out and have as much fun as we’ve had making it.”
The studio has also detailed three of the ten variant models available for the M1; the Gunslinger gives you the ‘Akimbo’ perk for free, and is therefore great for those who like dual-wielding, or as it’s otherwise known, ‘firing lots of shots without hitting anything’; the Sundown is accurate at a longer range, but slows you down; finally, the Unforgiving Truth has ”some all-around changes, which allow the player to go on longer streaks while looking like a bad ass.”
The M1 Irons is available now for Xbox owners (curse your eyes, exclusivity deals), but will be heading to PC shortly.
