Developer Limbic Entertainment has revealed in a new blog post that the upcoming 1.4 update for Might & Magic Heroes VII will be a ”major overhaul”, not only improving the graphics but also performance as well.
According to the studio, one of the complaints about Heroes VII was that the graphics were washed out and dull, so one of the improvements was to make them flashier and stand out more. They provided examples, using screenshots that showed a comparison between the current 1.3.1 build and the planned 1.4 build. Not only are the colors brighter, but some touches were added such as the workers at lumbermills being larger and dressed in red.
Another major change was RAM optimization. The developer stated that load times in the 1.4 update were effectively cut in half, and posted a table showing the differences in RAM use between the 1.3.1 and 1.4 builds.

Limbic also stated that 1.4 would come with a four part tutorial for new players to teach them about Heroes VII’s gameplay, and that there would be a strong possibility that the level cap on heroes would be removed. Additionally, the developer promised it would deal with multiplayer instability, and that they were hard at work on the editor.
Might & Magic Heroes VII was released on 29 September 2015, and GameWatcher game it a 7.5/10 score in its review.
