You might have noticed that developer Studio Wildcard has been catapulting a menagerie of prehistoric beasts into its sandbox survival game Ark: Survival Evolved, but this frantic rate of content updates won’t go on forever.
Speaking to RPS, co-creative director Jesse Rapczak explained as much; “Our pace of updates will slow down a lot as we get towards release, as we don’t want to be iterating on new stuff as we try to polish the game.”
Don’t worry too much, though. Content drops for the main game may well slow down, but only because the team will start to think about future expansions.
”We’re going to be developing that, starting soon, so that a few months after release we have a first expansion of Ark to go out and people have a big chunk of new content,” says Rapczak.
The developer says that expansions will likely appear on Early Access first, much like the core game. ”That’s something that we talk about; having an early access for DLC rather than just the game, because we get so much out of that with the back and forth with the community.”
Ark: Survival Evolved is expected to release in full in June 2016.
