Twitter user Wotta has managed to grab a screenshot of the world map from The Witcher 3. If you were worrying about running out of places to visit in the game, this should ease any concerns.
It’s big. Really big. When developer CD Projekt said the game’s land mass was roughly 64km squared, they weren’t joking around.
We’ve seen a rough version of the game’s map before, but this is the first time it’s been available in a lovely illustrated form. Most of those islands you can see can be sailed to, and unlike previous Witcher games the whole map is generated seamlessly. For a rough size comparison you can see the world map from The Witcher 2 here.
The developers have suggested you’ll need to spend around two hundred hours exploring the game to see all of what it offers. As if that wasn’t enough to keep you busy, CD Projekt has also announced two expansions that will add around thirty hours of gameplay alongside the main story.
Yep, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s May 19 release date seems an awfully long way away right now.
