Rumor: System Shock 3 in development at OtherSide Entertainment? [Update: Confirmed]

UPDATE:

The website has now revealed itself, with a full, stark white-on-black logo for Systerm Shock 3.

The site shows a timer counting down to 13 December 2015, presumably when full details such as platforms and story information will be revealed. Right now, all gamers can do is visit the official site and join the System Shock 3 mailing list, while we wait for the countdown timer to end.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Is a new System Shock game in the works at OtherSide Entertainment? The developer has just put up a teaser for their next project at Othersidetease.com and already fans are speculating that this is either the long-rumoured remake of System Shock or a brand new game in the series.

The reasoning? Firstly, OtherSide is made up of ex-Looking Glass and Irrational veterans who worked on the original games as well as “spiritual successor” Bioshock, and the team recently Kickstarted and are hard at work on Underworld Ascendant, a sequel to Ultima Underworld - another Looking Glass property and the precursor to System Shock.

Secondly, the current owners of the System Shock license are Night Dive Studios, who recently announced they were working on a remake and, notably, were “in talks” to create System Shock 3 with a partner. OtherSide could well be that partner.

Thirdly, the teaser website shows a glitchy ‘S’ and uses exactly the same font as the original game’s logo:

Coincidence? We think not. The only questions in our mind are A) is this a remake or a sequel, and B) will it be a Kickstarter?
