The latest Clausewitz engine is fuelling the rise of nations and colonialism in Europa Universalis IV, and it’s gearing up for all-out war in Hearts of Iron IV, but Paradox Development Studios has more in the works using that engine.
Crusader Kings II lead designer and Game Director Henrik Fåhraeus confirms there’s ”another game in production and yet another one in pre-production.” Who’s on the suspect list?
First there’s Victoria, which has been all quiet for a while now since Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV stole the spotlight. But what of the other title that’s going to be powered by the Clausewitz engine? Will Paradox Development Studios make the jump to Crusader Kings III already?
”First up is Hearts of Iron IV, the latest in our successful WW2 series of wargames, which will be released in Q2 or so. We have another game in production and yet another one in pre-production,” replied Fåhraeus when asked if they have something else on the Clausewitz in the pipeline.
Way of Life has been the latest DLC for Crusader Kings II, adding a number of expanded options to interact with our Royal household and various nobles. Fåhraeus said they’ll ”definitely be developing other character based strategy games,” but they want each series to have its own ”unique ‘soul’”.
