Space Engineers is a tremendously popular sandbox game about interstellar construction and exploration. Soon, the game will see an update that will bring the addition of planets to the game and in honor of the update, the game’s developer, Keen Software House, posted a video featuring an in-game free fall from a space station to Earth.
The video, featured below, is impressive. There doesn’t appear to be any loading screens or lag as the intrepid astronaut takes the long descent from station to planet. The video clocks in at 1:04 which doesn’t seem long, but a note in the description points out that the video is running at 4x speed. That is to say that one might not recommend this long journey from station to planet in a normal game. Still, it adds an impressive depth to just how massive planets will be once the update drops.
Space Engineers has been in early access since October 2013. The game has grown tremendously since and has gathered quite a following. If you’re interested in checking out Space Engineer, you can learn more about the game from the official website. You can also buy either directly from the website shop, or check it out on Steam.
The update featuring planets will be available on November 12th, 2015.
