Rockstar Games has just announced a further delay to the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V which was due by the end of this month. Now desktop crime waves won’t start until March 24th. It’s painful news alright.
The PC requirements to light up Los Santos have also been disclosed, and they’re suspiciously merciful given the vast scope of GTA V. A collection of PC screens have been published too.
The studio apologises for the ”slight shift in the date” but they want more weeks dedicated to testing and polish. ”Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans,” reads the announcement.
”Thanks everyone for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March.”
It’s better to suffer the heart-break of delay than the anguish of game-breaking bugs.
The Rockstar Newswire update also confirmed that GTA Online for PC, which is a free counterpart to GTA V, will support up to 30 players, and is to include the finally releasing GTA Online Heists at launch. They also posted some 4K resolution screens of GTA V in action.

Rockstar warns that new content downloaded over time might shift those PC requirements, and the fine print confirms we’ll be needing to use the Rockstar Games Social Club to log-in and verify, as well as for GTA Online of course.
Grand Theft Auto V now releases on PC March 24th, 2015.
