Daybreak Game Company has revealed that the next Episode in DC Universe Online’s ongoing story is coming to PC this Spring. Halls of Power Part II takes players to the New Gods world of New Genesis, where big bad Darkseid is causing trouble as usual.
Specifically, he’s been kidnapping heroes, and it’s your job to rescue them. Expect new missions, operations, raids and rewards, and new locations to visit in the Celestial City.
Halls of Power Part II marks the debut of the following New Gods, whose names vary from dull to hilarious; Orion, Lightray, Steppenwolf, Granny Goodness and the Female Furies Lashina, Stompa and Mad Harriet. Here’s the plot synopsis;
”Darkseid is relentless in his efforts to gather ancient artifacts of the Old Gods and has turned his legions on the Celestial City, home of Orion and the New Gods of New Genesis. Meanwhile, on Apokolips, Granny Goodness is abducting Earth’s greatest Heroes and Villains to see how well they stand up against the cruelty of Apokoliptian machinations.”
As for what to expect in terms of new content, there’s a new four player operation, ‘Fatal Exams’, which sees players attempt to escape from Granny Goodness’ brainwashing orphanage on Apokolips. Eight player op ‘New Genesis Now’ has them use ”a special teleporter to either stop Steppenwolf or defeat Lightray”. Rounding things off is ‘Happiness Home’, a raid that stars Oracle, Superman and Black Adam.
