Players have been reporting issues with GTA Online’s recent Ill-Gotten Gains Part 2 update, claiming that since it dropped they’ve been experiencing micro stuttering and frame-rate inconsistency across both online and offline modes.
There’s a rather bad-tempered (understandably) summation of the situation over on the GTA V PC Reddit and the game’s Steam forums. Developer Rockstar has acknowledged the issue.
”We have received reports of lower framerate in GTAV and GTA Online after Title Update 1.28 on PC,” reads a support post on the company’s website, ”and we are looking into these reports now. If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page.”
PC Gamer reports that the problem might stem from anti-modding tools that have been re-introduced in the latest patch, though the issues don’t seem to be unique to those who’ve installed user-created content. We’ll keep an eye on the situation, and for a more detailed response from Rockstar.
