Satellite Reign, the squad-based RTS homage to Bullfrog’s 1996 cyberpunk title Syndicate Wars, now has an official release date; it’s moving out of Early Access on August 28.
5 Lives Studios launched the game on Early Access in December last year, after a successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2013. Last week the game hit a big milestone with Beta update 0.8, which unlocked the entirety of the game’s campaign.
As Satellite Reign is now content complete, 5 Lives says the time from now until launch will be used to polish and bug fix. That doesn’t mean that players shouldn’t expect new goodies in the future, however.
”Of course, leaving Early Access is by no means a finish-line,” the team writes. ”Satellite Reign is hugely important to our little studio, and we’ll be continuing to support the game as long as necessary post-release, while also investigating new content and features we would like to add.”
Which is always nice to hear, isn’t it? Satellite Reign will be available on Steam, GOG and the Humble Store when it’s ready to launch in full. Check out the trailer above for a sample of its distinct cyberpunk flavour.
