Sledgehammer is chucking yet more guns into the already well-stuffed Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare; following on from the old-school M1 Irons revolver that dropped earlier this month, come even more variant weapon types.
Variants designs are based on a core weapon model, but contain statistical differences that make them handle very differently – on the way are five new non-akimbo variants of the SAC3 SMG, and a wave of new Royalty Weapon elite variants.
The former takes a weapon that is usually dual-wielded, for extra firepower at the cost of being able to aim down the sights, and makes it a solo piece. Now you can be a little more precise.
Royal Weapons, meanwhile, are garish purple monstrosities that share the same skin designs as the Grandmaster armour set that the developers released earlier this year. They’ll have top stats similar to the elite versions of existing weapons.
Both variant types will be available through both Supply Drops and Advanced Supply Drops. They’ll hit the Xbox One version of Advanced Warfare first on May 19, and will come to the PC and PS4 soon afterwards.
