Radiant Entertainment has released Alpha 10 for Stonehearth, the voxel-based Kingdom builder. Now we can start blueprinting our medieval waterparks thanks to the inclusion of the wet blue stuff. Lakes and ponds can generate.
For now it’s limited to moat defence, but Radiant want to expand its behaviour into rivers and to be used as a resource. There are also multi-story buildings now supported, along with a new UI.
”At long last, we’ve added lakes and ponds to the world generation. You can dig moats, channels, and the like – the water behaves largely as you would expect. Of course, there’s still much more to come with this feature: rivers, behavioral improvements, using water as a resource, and more,” said the studio in their new Kickstarter update.
Finally we can start constructing towers, or fancy multi-story homes. New building patterns and materials are included in Alpha 10, and the hearthlings are said to be smarter around construction tasks.
”Chapter Two of the Goblin Campaign is here – if you’re able to defeat the first camp, the goblins will return with new enemies and new characters. We’ve also beefed up the goblins across the board, especially the boss.” The undead now plague the night.
”Your settlement can handle twice as many hearthlings as Alpha 9 – now up to 40 settlers can populate your village. Mining large regions and building long roads will occupy much less CPU time.” Check out the latest update to learn more about Alpha 10
Radiant hope to have Stonehearth available through Steam Early Access soon. You can buy Alpha access for $30 through the official Stonehearth website.
