Mortal Kombat X will see franchise regulars Kung Lao and Kitana return for another bout of ludicrously gory punching and kicking, and developer Netherrealm has just released the first in-game footage of the monstrous duo in action.
Check it out to see Kitana do something unspeakable with a fan, and watch Kung Lao use a razor-sharp hat very irresponsibly indeed.
Kitana seems to make good use of her fan weapons here; every fighter in MKX has three different modes that slightly shift around how they play in the arena, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her get one that focuses on melee attacks with her signature weapon.
The video also announces the return of four-armed menace Goro, but he doesn’t get to do much here but be menacing at the camera. He’s a pre-order exclusive from UK store GAME , and presumably select US and International retailers too.
Mortal Kombat X is due out this April. I played it at EGX last year, and it impressed me a lot. A very neat mix of classic MK gameplay and some interesting new ideas. As well as buckets of the red stuff, naturally.
