Disgaea first debuted on the PlayStation 2 back in 2003, and has since launched a popular franchise of tactical strategy-RPGs which also spawned several spinoffs. The series is finally seeing a PC release, as NIS America has announced a PC release in February 2016 based on the first game, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness.
The publisher is assuring gamers that Disgaea PC won’t be a lazy PC port of the game either, and will include an updated user interface and tile textures, support for both keyboard/mouse and gamepad controllers, the Afternoon of Darkness bonus content, and Steam features including Achievements, Cloud Saves, Badges, and trading cards.
For those unfamiliar with the original game, the demon prince Laharl awakens two years after the death of his father Overlord Krichevskoy to discover that the Netherworld is in turmoil. ”With unlikely allies, his devious vassal Etna and the angel trainee Flonne, he must battle his way to supremacy to retake the throne and become the next Overlord.”
