The final release date for Carmageddon: Reincarnation, the crowd-funded and subsequently Early Access-ed fourth entry in the long-running vehicular homicide series, has been pushed back a month.
Reincarnation was originally intended to make it the doors on April 23, but developer and original franchise creator Stainless Games has moved the date back to May 21.
“We’ve been making great strides on all fronts,” the developer explained in a press release, “and were within a metric smidge of releasing next week, but in our final “Go/No Go” meeting we all agreed that the extra time was needed. The additional month gives us time to polish various areas of the game even further.”
There is some consolation; Stainless Games promises that another Early Access update will drop before the final date, adding “numerous improvements” to the game.
Reincarnation is currently available on Steam for £19.99. The Early Access price includes a free copy of Carmageddon Max Pack, Carmageddon: Carpocalypse Now, and Carmageddon: TDR 2000. When the final release date rolls around those games will no longer be included, though the price will remain the same. If you’ve a hankering for running over zombies, pedestrians and cows that simply can’t be sated, get hold of the game before May 21.
