There’s a rating for a game called Tron: Escape over on the Brazilian Advisory Rating System, suggesting that the Disney-owned property is about to get another game for PC and consoles.
Disney Interactive Studios created the fairly mediocre Tron: Evolution (pictured), a third-person action game with RPG and driving elements, back in 2010, but since then there’s been no word regarding a new release.
Of course, since the last game didn’t do so well, there’s every chance this is going to be developed by exterior team. I can think of plenty of developers who’d be great for a Tron game, but I’m not getting my hopes up too much at this point. The new game’s genre is listed as ‘arcade/action’, which doesn’t tell us a huge amount, but suggests it will follow a roughly similar model to Evolution.
Now that the cat’s out of the bag, I’d imagine there will be some kind of reveal before too long. We’ll keep an eye out for more information.
