With the upcoming Black Ops 3 Treyarch might be ditching the anonymous grunts of previous Call of Duty multiplayer modes in favour of distinct characters, but that won’t signal the end of customisation.
A new video from the team shows just how differently you can build two of the game’s specialists, Ruin and Outrider.
The former wields two ‘gravity spikes’, which are in effect axes that he can slam into he ground, releasing a surge of energy that blasts nearby enemies. He can either choose to specialise in this close-range style, or focus on improving his speed with the addition of a cybernetic leg talent.

Outrider, meanwhile, can either focus on using a visions pulse ability to locate hidden foes, or specialise in wielding a giant, compound longbow that blows people up. Tough call.
Both characters will be available in the Black Ops 3 Beta, which goes live on August 26, and of course in the full game, which launches this November 6.
