There are concerns over the PC port of Konami’s footy sim Pro Evolution Soccer 2016. Mixed user reviews on the Steam page and the fact that we are yet to receive review code for the game do not bode well. A NeoGAF thread sums up the issues nicely including graphical comparisons to the PS4, resolution restrictions, a poor options menu and incomplete player rosters.
What’s frustrating is that this comes two weeks after a fantastic port of MGSV: The Phantom Pain, a game from the same publisher using the same Fox Engine. You’d think that more care would have been taken with the 20th anniversary of the franchise, but the major cause for concern are the screens on the Steam page, which appear to be from the PS4 version. That changes the accusation from sloppy PC port to deceptive advertising. Luckily the advent of Steam refunds should prevent too many people from being stung.
PES 2016 is out now, but we advise you to hold on to your wallet for the time being.
