There’s a new RPG / Roguelike ready to sacrifice your time to, and it’s using the mighty power of the 1980’s era of basement-dwelling video games to bring it to life. Behold, Pixel Heroes: Byte & Magic.
Indie developer The Bitfather has put together a ”randomized world full of hilarious events,” and of course it’s full of ”deadly dungeons and the weirdest NPCs” ever to grace a virtual world.
We chose our party of wayward heroes and embark on a journey ”that will be completely different each time you start a new game. Bath in a pool of procedurally generated loot and defeat the evil forces that threaten the township of Pixton!” There are 30 unique hero classes to unlock.
All our weapons and gear are procedurally generated as well, and there are 13 ”mystic and beautifully cruel dungeons” to explore with epic bosses to defeat. There are 3 separate campaigns with each having a different final dungeon and boss. Permadeath will stalk our every move.
Check out Pixel Heroes: Byte & Magic on Steam to learn more. It releases on February 6th.
