Developers Licorice and Noio rolled out their new creation on Steam today: Kingdom. The game is a pixelated side-scroller set in medieval times. You take on the role of a king or queen, traveling through the land on horseback and collecting coins and allies to build your kingdom.
As you gain more treasures, you can help your subjects establish settlements and defenses to protect themselves from the unforgiving wilderness that surrounds them. There’s a bit of a learning curve and death is practically inevitable on first runs, but the game invites you to take your mistakes, learn from them, and be the best royalty you can be in the next campaign.
