The Ti variation of Nvidia’s latest GeForce 900 series is about to drop according to recent rumblings and the surfacing of the very first images of the new GPU. The GTX 980 Ti will be their most powerful card before the TITAN X.
What fancy specs does this new GPU beast boast? Well it has 6GB VRAM to start, which is half that of the TITAN X, but the 980 Ti is geared specifically with gaming in mind, unlike the TITAN X.
A lot of the card is based off the TITAN X but will prove to be nimble when it comes to performing with video games, and it will benefit from the various overclocked models from big names like EVGA, ASUS and other after-market tinkerers. This is where the true power in these cards lies.
The TITAN X is ‘locked’ to the Nvidia’s vanilla specs.
The first images of the GeForce GTX 980 Ti were nabbed by Videocardz.com. Korean tech website Hardware Battle has some benchmarking tests run on 3DMark.
This GPU will of course fully support DirectX 12 with Windows 10, meaning any new title developed with DX12 in mind should really take advantage of all that raw power.
