It takes a large group effort to patch and balance a strategy title like Age of Wonders III, and after a collective amount of 10s of millions of hours, the v1.705 patch is primed and ready to go.
Dubbed "CAESAR" by the development team, the newly released update tweaks balance issues and irons out some bugs like AI trying to dispel beneficial or otherwise static boons.
If you made good use of Nymphs popping up in specific Spring of Life locations, you're going to have to start devising a new strategy. They're gone. The Magical Structures skill will no longer buff your Arcane Study bonus and units swallowed whole by a unit will be freed upon killing the hungry beast.
For those more into modding the game, you should start to see some noteworthy performance upgrades following the editor client's switch to streaming data - freeing up precious memory. It's also only going to load low-resolution texures; again, to ease on the memory costs.
There's a heck of a lot more content changes outlined through the official patch notes; we merely selected a few stand-out additions. If you're looking to get the full update, click on through to the release post.
If you're looking to play the title yourself, you can do so through the same link while it's 75% off on Steam.
