ReCore is a game that seems centered around a girl and her friendly sentient robotic orb surviving in a world filled with less friendly sentient robotic orbs. It was announced at E3 2015 originally as an Xbox One-exclusive game, but new reports confirm that the game is coming to PC.
The announcement was made via Microsoft’s Xbox Wire blog in which they listed the slew of upcoming titles for Microsoft systems in the upcoming year. Before today, a PC port of ReCore was only a rumor, but the listing of the game also states that the game will be on Windows 10 as well.
Little is known about how ReCore will play as we don’t have much more than screenshots and the cinematic trailer shown during Xbox One’s showing at E3. What we do know is that it comes from the mind of legendary video game pioneer and original Mega Man/Rock Man illustrator Keiji Inafune. It seems to be centered around themes of survival in an unforgiving wasteland. An unnamed female protagonist travels with a sentient orb that can give life to a myriad of disabled machines to supply different functionality. All the while, it seems they must survive against machines given life by other hostile orbs, which it would appear the girl collects.
The Xbox One version of the game was slated for Spring of 2016 and as an Xbox One exclusive, it’s hard to imagine that ReCore will come out on PC at the same time, but the game is definitely set for a 2016 release regardless.
