EA is giving away free downloadable content for Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3 as part of their ‘Road to Battlefield’ promotion.
From 3rd – 10th May, you can get Battlefield 4’s Dragon’s Teeth and Battlefield Hardline: Robbery for free. The Dragon’s Teeth DLC introduces four urban maps: Sunken Dragon, Propaganda, Pearl Market and Lumphini, along with new game mode, Chain Link. In this mode, players must link adjacent capture points to create links. In turn, this causes the opponent to bleed tickets faster. Dragon’s Teeth also introduces a new gadget, known as the R.A.W.R. The R.A.W.R is a controllable Battle Pickup loaded with a machine gun and grenade launcher.
Battlefield Hardline: Robbery also introduces four new maps: The Docks, Break Pointe, Museum and Precinct 7. Players can also enjoy the Squad Rush (Battlefield 3) inspired Squad Heist mode. Here, Battlefield-style combat has been integrated into a classic heist situation. The Robbery DLC contains new weapons, such as the Throwing Knife and new Gadgets, including the CS Gas Launcher and Vehicle Healing.
In addition, players that score 2.5 million Melee Kills in any Battlefield 4 multiplayer mode between 5pm BST on 3rd and 5pm BST on 10th May will be awarded a Gold Battlepack. Equally, those that play Battlefield Hardline’s Heist mode and collectively score 300,000 points will also receive the same reward. Gold Battlepacks usually unlock once a player reaches rank 90 and above and contains three standard items and two advanced items.
EA are set to reveal a new Battlefield game at 9pm BST on 6th May. This will be our “first look at the future of Battlefield”. They also released a teaser trailer for Titanfall 2 last month with a full worldwide reveal planned for 12th June to kick off EA Play. With Mass Effect: Andromeda predicted to launch next year, too, it’s a busy time for EA.
Edit: Just to clarify, EA’s website says players will need to score 2.5 million melee kills. That is definitely not a typo from us!
