There has been a whirlwind of information regarding new VR systems slated for 2016. Oculus Rift has raised waves with the announcement of preorders for the system that has been in development for sometime now. In the most recent news, those who won’t be sitting by their browsers waiting for the preorder page to open won’t have to worry about missing out. Oculus Rift preorders will not sell out.
This news came from the Twitter feed of OculusVR Inc.founder Palmer Luckey himself. In the tweets, Palmer states in one of many tweets on the matter that there is “no chance of Rift preorders ‘selling out’,” claiming that the company will take preorders regardless of quantity. The only caveat mentioned is that if the quantity of orders turns out to be more than expected, then the company will simply push the shipping date back to fulfill all orders.
We won't lock people into preorders months before reviews come out using our awesome preorder bonuses. We have confidence in our product!

Luckey also mentioned that those who preorder the Rift will have first dibs on preorders for its forthcoming peripheral, the Touch. The Oculus Touch is a haptic feedback controller meant to allow access to even more applications and functionally than the Rift alone can supply. If players preorder the Oculus Rift, then they’ll be first in line to place orders for the Touch. This comes in addition to EVE: Valkyrie and Lucky’s Tale which will be bundled with the Rift.
Preorders for the Oculus Rift will be open tomorrow, but it’s not the only one making waves. HTC announced the Vive Pre at the Consumer Electronics Expo today. It’s a busy day for the growing industry of VR systems and it’s only going to get more hectic as we get closer to the release dates for these systems, but not having to refresh frantically to get into the first wave of Oculus preorders might be a load off for at least a few folks.
