Has the Might & Magic series reached a sudden conclusion? Most likely not. But if the impending end of a partnership between developer Limbic and Ubisoft is anything to go by, we won't be seeing another title in the series from the dynamic duo in the future.
Notes left in a post detailing the newest update for Might & Magic Heroes VII explains how "After 4 years of a close collaboration, our partnership with Limbic Entertainment is coming to an end". Alerting players that no more updates will be released for the title, the statement seems to be coming from Ubisoft rather than Limbic Entertainment.
The wording suggests Ubisoft will retain the rights for the franchise ending the post by saying "we are looking forward to seeing you again in Ashan!". While Ubisoft has yet to announce another title in the franchise, It'll likely be handled by a developer other than Limbic should it ever occur.
No signs of foul play between the duo is being called into question here. It seems Ubisoft has decided not to renew the contract between the developers, instead likely opting to see how another team might be able to handle the franchise in the future.
Still healthy, however, the turn-based strategy RPG can be picked up through Steam. There's some detailed 4K gameplay below too.
