You may have missed Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s Kickstarter campaign last year, Koji Igarashi’s latest project. Bloodstained is a side-scrolling game, very much in the style of the Castlevania games.
If you know about the Castlevania games then you certainly should know about Igarshi, the producer behind some of the best games in the Castlevania series. Igarashi created a Kickstarter for Bloodstained, his spiritual successor to Castlevania, which managed to raise over $5.5m in the space of one month.
The latest developer update comes from the game’s Kickstarter page. As you can see from the video below, the game is starting to look very nice. The engine seems to be perfect for a Metroidvania-style game, and the new song by Michiru Yamane fits the game well.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is scheduled for release early next year for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Wii U and PlayStation Vita.
