If there’s one thing I know about Nobunaga, it’s that he was pretty ambitious. Not content merely with uniting feudal Japan, he expanded his success into a seemingly infinite series of video games detailing his wartime exploits. Yet another entry in the long-running Nobunaga’s Ambition series will hit western shores this October.
Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence, the latest entry in Koei Tecmo’s prolific series, released last year, and now its standalone expansion has been confirmed for a western release. Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence – Ascension will return us to the epic times of the Warring States period to once again command ancient forces in a game of grand strategy.
New features in Ascension include Officer Play, which will allow you to experience the life of an officer advancing from humbly retainer to mighty Daimyō, expanding your influence in a variety of ways. The new game will also include full-scale naval and siege battles, allowing you to assault enemy walls or do battle at sea.
Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence – Ascension will release on October 28 for PC and PS4, and will not require the original game to play.
