We recently heard that Elite Dangerous wasn’t officially coming to Oculus, and that the developers ”chosen to focus on SteamVR.” But today, they’re singing a different tune!
Elite Dangerous will be updated for Oculus support in time for the device’s launch on March 28. Owners of Horizons, the game’s first expansion pack, will be able to download the VR version for free.
Between Elite Dangerous and EVE Valkyrie, it seems that fans of space sims will find good reason to strap on the Oculus. Being able to talk about “virtual reality space combat simulators” as real consumer products fills my nerdy little heart with indescribable joy.
