Norwegian developers Funcom Productions have released some gameplay footage of Conan Exiles, showing for the first time some of the action players can expect later this year. Conan Exiles will enter into Early Access on September 13th and will follow on with the full launch on PC and consoles.
Conan Exiles is an open-world survival game, so it’s a bit like Minecraft… except you are stuck in a barbaric Mad Max-style wasteland and not a cartoony block-filled world. Players will be forced to survive in this world, suffering both in single-player and online. The wasteland has plenty of dangerous creatures and elements, but it also features plenty of tools for you to ensure your safety.
”We’re very excited (and a bit nervous) about launching our first Early Access title,” said Funcom CEO Rui Casais. ”The team wants to give the players the best possible experience, and while we are used to working on a game for several years before letting players in, this time around we will let players in just nine months after development started!”
