Telltale has managed to grab some of the biggest licenses in the world, bringing us titles including the Walking Dead, Minecraft, Game of Thrones, Batman, and it won’t be long before their Marvel game comes out. But now they’re teasing something based on a slightly less known property called Mr. Robot.
The USA Network show might not have the name value as some of Telltale’s other projects, but it’s gotten an excellent critical reception and a solid audience response. Game fans might recognize its star, Rami Malek, from his role in Sony’s choose-your-own-horror game, Until Dawn for PlayStation 4.
This week, Telltale posted a video of an E Corp Messaging app to their Facebook and Twitter accounts. The brief ad is in reference to the show, and that’s basically all we know. It could be a teasing announcement of a new adventure series, Telltale could be making a tie-in app for the show, or a social media manager might be having a goof.
The post has remained on Telltale’s social media channels even after being reported on, so we can probably rule out anything accidental. I’ll be curious to see what form this apparent partnership takes.
