Wasteland 3 is three for three after it has met its crowdfunding goal of $2.75 million, just three days after the game’s crowdfunding campaign was launched on Fig. While most of the $2.75 million was met by investors, over 14,000 backers donated toward the RPG’s funding goal. This means the current amount sits at over $2.8 million with over 24 days yet to go leaving the potential for this game to be much more ambitious that originally planned.
Now the goal has been met, Brian Fargo’s InXile Entertainment have released stretch goals that stretch up to $3.1 million that contain cosmetic additions such are more character customization. Should these goals be met relatively quickly, it would be easy to assume more will be added and Inxile may even consider content additions.
Wasteland 3’s video preview and screen show the game is much more ambitious than that of its predecessor. The Fig crowdfunding platform which Fargo has ties too as does Double Fine developer Tim Shafer has its critics. Yet the platforms record currently speaks for itself with a large success rate of projects with six of the eight projects that have ever been on the site being completely funded.
