Dark Souls III is undoubtedly going to be hard. The series developer, FromSoftware, is well known for making their games notoriously difficult. There is, however, one related thing that’s going to be harder if not impossible soon: getting your hands on any of the special edition copies of Dark Souls III that are on sale now.
A representative of Bandai Namco Entertainment confirmed in an email today that the Prestige edition of Dark Souls III has sold out on PS4 within just 2 hours of preorders becoming available. At the time of the press release, PC Prestige Editions were “in limited supply too,” but have since become unavailable for order. This edition of the game was offered exclusively through Amazon.
Bandai Namco stressed that the remaining special editions of Dark Souls III are in very limited supply across all available retailers. The Collector’s Edition features most everything included in the Prestige edition, minus the premium 40cm Lord of Cinder figurine. Finally, the Apocalypse Edition is a UK-exclusive edition that offers the special edition metal case and the soundtrack, although it can only be preordered through GAME.
Dark Souls III is slated for release on 12th April, 2016. To see if your computer will be able to handle the game, check out the system requirements.
