Slitherine has announced its second expansion for its wargame Order of Battle: Pacific. While Order of Battle: Morning Sun took a look at the second Sino-Japanese War that was waged from 1937 to 1940, Order of Battle: U.S. Marines will follow the hard-bitten soldiers who fought in some of the bloodiest battles of World War II.
According to Slitherine Ltd, ”This elite military corp proved essential in the island hopping strategy employed by the Allies in this theater of operations. The new 11-scenario campaign features some of the most iconic battles where the US Marines went down in history such as Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.”
The full list of battles in the expansion includes Tulagi, Guadalcanal, Munda Point, Blissful & Goodtime, Bougainville, Gilbert Islands, Marshall Islands, Saipan, Guam, Palau and Iwo Jima.
The publisher also announced that they would be holding a closet beta for the U.S. Marines expansion. ”By signing up for the beta, players will have a chance to be selected to be one of the lucky few who will be able experience Order of Battle: US Marines before release and help us with the final touches, ensuring a smooth release in a few weeks.” Interested gamers can sign up for the beta here.
The original Order of Battle: Pacific was released back in April 2015 and earned an 8.0/10 score in its GameWatcher review.
