ArchAge was one of the most anticipated MMO launches of 2013. Every year has one or two big releases like it, but ArcheAge was the one to capture the people's hearts a little while ago. And with its 3.0 'Revelation' expansion now live, it's likely trying to conjure up that feeling once again.
With a level cap set at 55, the game's Executive Producer Merv Lee Kwai is already saying "this is truly the most exciting time to be an ArcheAge player." Why? Well there's a couple of new things to highlight.
The Dwarf and Warborn races finally make their appearance and each gain access to some unique powers and abilities after their transformation sequence. Both being of different factions, they'll bring plenty of new stories and quests to the table, too. Take them for a spin on the 'Fresh Start' servers and eventually work your way up to travelling through a handful of new zones throughout Eranor.
In the spirit of Christmas, lets end 2016 by looking back at all its failures!
Airain Rock, Aubre Cradle, Sunbite Wilds, Rokhala Mountains and Ahnimar will become accessible introducing a few new player housing areas in the process. Of course, there's new gear, mount and crafting recipes, but the Revelation highlight comes in the form of the 'Abyssal Skill' system - one which pushes the boundaries of a maxed out skill tree by offering some of the game's most powerful abilities after finishing a few unique quests.
Just like ArcheAge itself, the Revelation expansion is free for everyone. And with the Fresh Start servers being a welcoming environment for those looking to learn the ropes, it's likely a good time to give it a shot if you're looking for a new MMO to sink into over the holidays.
