The Sniper: Ghost Warrior series is known for being, well, pretty average. Despite the middling review scores of 5/10 across the board for both the first and second game, the series turned out to be a commercial success with over five million sales in total. The third game in the series, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, was announced in December 2014, with the first gameplay footage being shown at E3 2015. Today it has been announced that the game is being delayed from its initial release date of sometime in 2016 to January 27th 2017.
”Shortly before completion of the work, we found that we were our target. Although close, however, we would still need some time to ensure that Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is unique.” said CI Games CEO and Founder, Marek Tyminski. ”We are pleased and welcome the patience and support of the waiting players. There are only a few months. And the wait is definitely worth it.2
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 puts you in the middle of a series of conflicts between three hostile factions. Set in the modern-day, players must attempt to prevent another Cold War from taking place. As retired American marine Jonathan North, you will have to eliminate the intruder that threatens to bring war.
The last Sniper: Ghost Warrior game to release was Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2. The game launched back in 2013 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, giving players the opportunity to take out their enemies from ranged distances. The sequel, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 promises to feature AAA production effort, which hopefully means it will be received a lot better by critics.
