Koei Tecmo’s third person anime game, Arslan: The Warriors of Legend, has been confirmed for a launch on Steam on 12th February, 2016. The game had been leaked as a PC release back in December when it was listed for the platform by ESRB. Dragon Warriors veterans will be familiar with the third person, tactical hack-and-slash gameplay, featuring cel-shaded graphics.
Arslan: The Warriors of Legend is based on a novella in the late 1980’s, and quickly became a popular manga and anime by Full Metal Alchemist author Hiromu Arakawa called The Heroic Legend of Arslan.
The series revolves around the title character Arslan, a crown prince of the country of Pars. He is exiled when his father is betrayed and murdered, forcing him to raise his own army to reconquer the kingdom and his home. The series isn’t afraid to tackle mature topics, either, such as slavery and religious fanaticism.
Aside from the title character, other playable characters include ”Tus, a quiet officer of the Parsian army and chain martial arts expert, Isfan, the younger brother of a Cavalry General who is also known as the ‘one raised by wolves, and the fearless Zaravant, a Shield-Spear wielding knight of great strength.”
Not much information is known about the game’s Steam release save its release date. Its page has not yet been added to the Steam Store.
