Warhammer 40K Eternal Crusade has been in Closed Alpha for some time as it slowly evolved into the experience players and the developers wanted the game to be. In an effort to promote ease of access, Behaviour Digital has chosen to move the game over to Steam’s Early Access program.
The announcement was made on the Eternal Crusade website where the devs thanked players for staying along for the ride and having patience thus far. With the move coming, sales of pre-order Founders Packs will cease on January 25, 2016, thereafter retail pricing will start.
Eternal Crusade is a player vs player massively multiplayer online shooter in which players take up with one of four factions and wage war against the other three as well as a computer controlled faction as all factions vie for control of land on the planet of Arkhona. Moving over to Steam is a sensible decision in this case as it will be an opportunity for Behaviour to reach out to the enormous Steam community as well as those who’ve been on board since the beginning. For an MMO, building and maintaining a strong player base is paramount to success.
There is no confirmation of the exact date of Eternal Crusade’s release on Steam Early Access as of yet, but the devs promise another announcement soon as they prep for the final move.
