It’s been a busy few days for NetherRealm Studios as they prepare to role out a slew of new content and changes for their renowned fighter, Mortal Kombat X. There’s new online systems, DLC, and a collection of the game and all currently known content on the way. The bad news? None of it seems to be coming to PC.
Recently, NetherRealm announced new Beta testing that for online matchmaking that is currently taking place on consoles at this time. Then, more recently, they announced Mortal Kombat XL which would be featuring all DLC, including skins, characters, and stages up to Kombat Pack 2… for PS4 and Xbox One.
Mortal Kombat co-creator and NetherRealms head Ed Boon and his company have been constantly questioned on the possibility of MKXL coming to PC, but the situation is looking bleak. Recently on the Test Your Might Forums, NetherRealms community manager Tyler Lansdown reported that Kombat Pack 2 (the newest upcoming DLC featuring Leatherface, the Xenomorph, Bo Rai Cho, and Tri-Borg) will be “available on PS4 and Xbox One only”.
Right now, it appears that NetherRealm is proverbially pulling the rug out from under the feet of PC players and right now it is suspect whether or not the company intends to continue to support the game on PC.
