Bandai Namco and Behaviour Interactive announced during the weekend that Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade will be released on the 23rd of September for the PC, with the console versions planned for release later on.
Eternal Crusade features four factions that includes the Space Marines, Orks, Eldar, and the Tyranids. Players can either battle in PvP modes or PvE with squads having to work together to exterminate the other factions in massive battlegrounds. Each faction has a number of sub-factions that you can choose from, with hundreds of different weapons, customization options and accessories all taken from Warhammer 40,000 lore.
“We are committed to delivering the best experience for the release on September 23rd, with a PC version that matches our ambitions in terms of content and quality and sets the runway for our free lifetime expansions. To pause the development of the console versions was a tough decision but will result in an optimized and extended experience when released” says Stephen Mulrooney, SVP Behaviour Digital.
Back in July Emma Matthews was lucky enough to check out Eternal Crusade at a preview event in London, and while the PC version seemed to be running pretty well, she reported that the console ports – especially the PlayStation 4 – were running very poorly. Behaviour Interactive obviously needs more time to bring the console ports up to the standard that players expect, although we aren’t sure how long it’ll take because no release date was provided.
We’ll bring you our full impressions of Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade when it launches on the 23rd September for the PC.
