Who would have thought Sins of a Solar Empire would still be supported by Stardock & Ironclad Games after its release back in 2008? Stardock’s space-bound RTS, Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is receiving brand new DLC: Outlaw Sectors. Outlaw Sectors brings new maps and significant gameplay changes to the game.
With the Outlaw Sectors DLC, players will now have access to the Smuggling Specialization planet upgrade. This allows you to take a cut of global trade profits, providing you are happy to sacrifice your planet’s corruption status. By co-operating with the autonomous planetary militias, you can have them defend your worlds while raiding adjacent ones.
The new maps in the game are perfect for both intimate skirmishes and even large multiplayer battles. In Outlaw Sectors, you’ve got maps that can work with up to ten players and maps that are great for fast 1v1 duels. If you don’t feel like playing fast duels on the ‘Power Struggle’ map, you can always load up the new ‘Dogfight’ map that gives each player a large amount of space. Stardock say there are plenty more maps to choose from, so you aren’t limited by these two.
“We love Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion here at Stardock,” said Brian Clair, Director of Publishing. “We have been looking forward to putting out this DLC for a while now. We have an awesome community full of people who still actively play the game, so we know they’ll be excited, too.”
