Ark: Survival Evolved will be receiving a huge update today, along with the introduction of the largest dinosaur in the game, the Titanosaurus. The price of the game has also been reduced by 45% in light of the Steam Summer Sale, which will run until 4th July.
Fans will be interested (and probably quite disappointed) to hear that the Titanosaurus cannot be tamed the same way as other dinosaurs in the game. From what we have seen so far, the dinosaur appears to die of starvation very quickly as players are unable to supply it with enough food.
So what’s new? We’ve listed the most exciting additions to the game below:
-
New Item: The Chain Bola ammo for ballista turret! – Entangles large creatures in huge metal bolas.
-
New Item: Gas Mask! - Avoid poisonous gas with this protective breathing apparatus.
-
New Item: Herbivore “TastyCakes”
-
New Structure: Retractable Rope Ladders!
-
New Structure: Tree Sap Taps! - Extract valuable syrup from the Great Redwoods – can be used in new recipes.
-
GroundClutter effect extended 50% further and +20% more GPU efficiency
-
Approximate +5% GPU performance improvement related to more efficient foliage culling
-
Tamed & Wild Gigas Damage reduced by 50%, Wild Giga HP reduced by 40%, Tamed Giga Run Speed reduced by 30%, Tamed Giga HP reduced by 25%, Giga Stamina Increased by 30%. Tamed Gigas now require/consume 50% less food for subsistence.
-
Added two additional levels to gain, for Players and Dinos
Since the v243.0 update, a few other fixes have also been pushed out by Studio Wildcard. These include a server crash associated with Dino Baby Births and a fix for Tripwire Alarm and Birth notifications, which are now being displayed properly.
