There is a lot of DLC out there for Total War: Attila, and that has rankled the feathers of more than a few series fans. Whether or not you appreciate the upsell of additional factions, the business strategy must be working, because another pack is out today.
The Slavic Nations Culture Pack will populate your Eastern Europe with the Anteans, Sclavenians, and Venedians in both single-player and multiplayer campaigns. Victory for the Slavic Nations depends on building Wonders from a new legendary building chain. These expensive buildings provide faction-wide bonuses and unlock new abilities. A trailer describes the full gameplay ramifications of the new factions below.
In addition to the paid content, a free faction is being added. ”In the dying light of the 4th century, the Garamantians occupy a unique position. From their north African strongholds, they can attack the now-troubled Roman Empire, forging their own path in the west, or strike out into the seas to explore the unknown. The world is changing, yet the Garamantians are poised to seize greatness no matter what!”
The bit of free content is a nice gesture, but I doubt it’ll do much to stem the tide of anger over the prolific paid content. In any case, the Slavic Nations Culture Pack is available now for $7.99.
