Do you like superheroes? How about Diablo? If you put down a yes for either of those, then you should really play Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It doubled down on the “action” part of action RPGs when it first released back in 2006, and its colorful cast of superpowered heroes drew from Marvel history to bring back characters both famous and obscure. Now it’s coming back, remastered, along with its sequel.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 will both be out on Tuesday, with improved performance, graphics, and cleaner UI. The first game is an old-school take on superheroes, featuring colorful Saturday morning beatdowns of classic villains. Ultimate Alliance 2 takes a darker turn, retelling the original Civil War series and pitting Captain America and Iron Man against one another.

You can play both games in single-player or with up to four players cooperatively, and your pals can come in either online or locally. ”It’s a perfect time to play these games if you missed them the first time or replay with new friends and new Super Hero dream teams,” says executive producer Mike Jones.
The titles will be available on Steam for $39.99 each or as a bundle for $59.99 when they launch on July 26, and they’ll be hitting PS4 and Xbox One as well. That price may be a bit steep for games of their vintage, but it’s hard to argue against their quality.
